Kerby’s Koney Island, one of the coney chains featured in Coney Detroit, was honored as Michigan’s family restaurant of the year at the Michigan Food and Beverage Association’s 84th annual dinner on March 24, 2012.
This is part of what Coney Detroit, says about Kerby’s:
"In every area, every city, people need a diner where they can go for quick food that’s inexpensive and fresh,’ says Terry Keros, one of six Keros family members who own Kerby’s. ‘Coney islands have filled that niche here."
"While many older coney islands focus solely on their coney dogs, the chains have expanded their menus to include all kinds of sandwiches, burgers, salads, desserts, and other items."
